What are your main responsibilities?

As the driving force behind innovative customer solutions, my responsibilities include identifying key markets for technology-based security solutions, transforming the company into a technically-led Security Integrator, and actively promoting and training sales teams to introduce solutions to their customers. I also provide technical and commercial support in customer meetings, assist in reviewing current products, and continuously review legislation and industry guidelines to ensure MFSG remains at the forefront of innovation.

What is your main objective within this role?

My main objectives are to identify key markets for technology-based security solutions, exhibit our solutions at events and host events, provide training materials for engineers, promote and train sales teams, and provide technical and commercial support in customer meetings and presentations. Additionally, I will assist with pre-sales and design solutions, review current products, produce technical Webinar sessions, and constantly review current and future legislation. Through collaborative efforts with the marketing team, I will ensure Marlowe Fire & Security remains at the forefront of innovation and bespoke customer solutions.

What jobs did you do prior to joining us? What prepared you for your role here?

From my electrical apprenticeship to my work on large networked systems and my time working as a technical engineer, these have all prepared me for my role here at Marlowe Fire & Security. Through these experiences, I have gained extensive knowledge of fire and security systems, from design, installation to fault finding and commissioning, as well as valuable skills in problem-solving, technical expertise, and sales. I am excited to bring these skills to my current role and help drive innovation and customer solutions forward.

What’s the best thing about working at Marlowe Fire & Security?

Some of the benefits of working at Marlowe Fire & Security are career growth and development, working with a team of professionals in a challenging and dynamic environment, and contributing to an organisation that plays an important role in protecting people and property through the delivery of innovative fire and security solutions.

What has been the highlight of your career at Marlowe Fire & Security over the years?

Throughout my career at Marlowe Fire & Security, I’ve had many memorable experiences, but the highlight would have to be working with my colleagues on a large networked safeguarding system. We started from the design phase, travelled halfway around the world to find a possible solution, and successfully installed the system consisting of over 420 cameras, including 200 facial recognition cameras. We integrated a body camera solution, our lone worker solution Marlowe ConnectME, and a panic alarm system that directly alerted the onsite security team. It was a challenging project, but our successful implementation of the system was truly rewarding and showcased our technical expertise and innovative solutions.

Are you working on any special projects that would be interesting to this interview?

I’m currently involved in a range of exciting projects at Marlowe Fire & Security, including the design and implementation of control rooms for a top UK football club, integrating our innovative bodyworn video solution into our alarm receiving centre to provide a cloud-based solution, and even participating in a charity soap box race in Tunbridge Wells. However, perhaps the most intriguing project is the development of robotics in security, which we showcased at our last event and now have the potential to take further with a few interested customers.

What has been your greatest personal achievement?

I believe that my greatest personal achievement is in the successful integration of new products and services into our systems, providing innovative solutions to our customers. This requires a deep understanding of our industry and a commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements, and I take pride in being able to deliver these cutting-edge solutions to our clients.

Our commitment to collaboration and teamwork is truly remarkable and makes me confident that we can overcome any challenge together.

What’s your favourite place in the world and why?

Although it may not be the most exotic destination, my favourite place in is my caravan in Hay on Wye. It’s a place where I can escape from daily life and enjoy some peace and quiet. It’s my sanctuary, and I always leave feeling refreshed and recharged.

What’s on your bucket list?

I have a couple of things on my bucket list. Firstly, I would love to travel across America and try the most amazing foods like Adam Richman did in Man v. Food. Secondly, I’m determined to attend a Formula One race weekend abroad with an F1 team.

What are the best things in life?

For me this is Food, I love experiencing flavours from around the world, and discovering new restaurants, this is one of my greatest pleasures.
