Since April 2019, we have supported The Portman Estate on the maintenance and repair of their fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and extinguishers across their prestigious estate. Located in the heart of central London, between Oxford Street and Edgware Road, the family run organisation includes a mix of residential, retail and office space of which we manage over 185 locations.

Our Service Engineers provide regular weekly bell testing and visual inspections to all communal areas and inspect all residential flats and buildings on an annual basis, putting the safety and compliance of their residents and property first.
Their environment has been described as distinctive, varied and vibrant and requires a distinct and tailored approach to ensure 100% compliance and minimal disruption to residents. Due to the unique requirement we have two allocated preferred Engineers who visit once per week as a minimum to ensure familiarity with the sites and systems and amongst residents. This is alongside ad-hoc support where required.
We provide a yearly planner that identifies all plant and services to be maintained, together with the weekly numbers the various tasks that are due to take place, this planner has been devised to ensure minimal disruption to occupants of the retail, office and residential properties. Weekly and monthly maintenance is planned in order to provide a contingency period to complete any delayed maintenance if initial access is prevented.
To ensure we give the best service possible, each of our clients are allocated a dedicated Account Manager. The appointed Account Manager for Portman Estates has extensive experience managing public sector accounts across a varied portfolio of Fire Safety solutions, inclusive of residential, retail and commercial properties. We provide bespoke contract inductions and customer care training to our Engineers in order to properly manage the unique requirements of these varied occupied premises.
The Account Manager has full access to a suite of KPI reports through an automated dashboard, fed from our CASH4Windows operating system to support in providing transparent, regular measurements against the agreed SLA which are shared with The Portman Estate on a monthly basis.
Working closely with The Portman Estate’s projects department, frequent fire upgrade works are carried out and delivered in concurrence with any extensive property refurbishments, or the handing over of properties following a long lease.
All sites are surveyed with the manufacturer EMS, and as the sites are mainly listed buildings, all fire alarm systems therefore need to be wireless in order to comply with regulations.
The projects are co-ordinated with the tenants and Portman, to enable access to all flats within properties, and commissioning and handover of systems.
