Originally awarded a cluster of sites within central London, the contract has expanded to incorporate sites throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland.
We have worked with Caffé Nero since 2015 providing an innovative and comprehensive fire life safety and security solution.
Utilising the capabilities of our Alarm and Video Receiving and Innovation Centre, Marlowe Connect, we have implemented a range of innovative solutions, including CCTV verified fire alarm monitoring and a lone working solution. Our approach ensures their employees and premises safety, security while supporting our customer in fulfilling their Duty of Care.
We continue to support Caffé Nero in the installation of their fire life safety and security systems on new stores and re-fits as and when required. Preferred systems include:

Store of the Future
Throughout the term of the contract, we have supported Caffé Nero to address a number of pre-existing challenges throughout their estate.
The Integrated Technology Division have utilised a combination of existing on site equipment, new technology and a tailored monitoring platform to provide an “off site” solution for 170 stores across the UK.
At Caffé Nero stores throughout the UK it was identified that delivery drivers were leaving alarms unset following the delivery of products in the middle of the night. These deliveries were taking place after the late to set schedule and so the stores remained undetected.
To rectify this we have implemented an Open Watch system. An alarm is now automatically generated within Marlowe Connect if an alarm remains unset for more than 20 minutes outside of the agreed schedule. This has been combined with remote engineering to provide CCTV patrols if necessary.
Loss of URN
Across the estate many stores had lost their URN’s through numerous accidental activations.
We have worked closely with Caffé Nero and utilised existing technology across the estate to implement a visual verification solution. This was achieved by providing VPN links to the Caffé Nero Network and enabling the visual verification of alarms through the Merlin Cross view platform within Marlowe Connect.
As a result false alarms have been reduced to zero and the URN’s for Caffé Nero have now been reinstated by key Police forces.
At selected stores lone working was in operation during quieter trading periods.
To ensure staff safety we have provided Caffé Nero with a portable signalling device that has been integrated into the Merlin monitoring platform. Each device features man down technology together, panic button and two-way audio functionality.
In the event of alarm activation a Marlowe Connect operator will ensure the safety of the operative and actions the alarm according.
Throughout the Caffé Nero estate our innovative solutions have proven to be highly effective, reducing lone working and improving staff safety, resolving URNs across the estate, and ensuring all sites are protected at all times.
