The Future of Swift’s Engineering Force

Over the past few weeks our Junior and Apprentice Engineers have been going head to head in a practical assignment to plan, test, and commission their very own Galaxy and Texecom test boards that will be used by our Swift Connect facility at Birchwood.

The aim of this assignment was for both teams of engineers to work together to prepare, plan and organise, a design project as if they were out on a site installing a small intruder alarm system.

The activity provided our engineers with a hands opportunity to put into practice everything they have learned in their studies at college and on their training sessions.

Both teams did a fantastic job and we’re very pleased with their efforts.

The winner on this occasion was our team of Junior Engineers. Their extra experience provided them with a slight advantage in the end. However, the work of our Apprentices was excellent and bodes well for Swift’s future engineering force.

The training session have proven to be really beneficial to our Junior and Apprentice Engineers and they all really enjoyed this task it at the same time. The success of this practical training session means there will be many more to look forward to in the future.
