Job Title: Head of Defence & Government Services

Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director

Based: Home Based Covering Nationally

Job Purpose Summary

Due to an internal promotion, one of the UK’s leading Fire safety and security specialists are looking for a senior manager to provide the effective management and delivery of all aspects of Defence and Government work streams including existing M.O.D. contracts.

Reporting directly into the Sales & Marketing Director this is a pivotal role within Marlowe Fire and Security for delivering an important area of the business.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Client liaison and development of the Division in terms of building on current business with new Clients and Contracts.

Full P & L responsibility for Division

Drive revenue and profitability

Liaison with credit control and provide assistance support if required

Manage ring fenced team to include Operations Manager, Field based Engineers and Administrators,

Ensure assurance auditing and checking undertaken and documented and reported to Clients along with actions for efficiencies

Provide monthly forecasting for sales revenue to Sales Director

Provide monthly delivered revenue figures for verifying by Management Accountant against Monthly Quarterly and Annual budget

Ensuring revenue and profitability targets are achieved whilst costs are kept within budget and service delivery provided on time and in line with customer compliance and quality expectations

Manage multiple Client expectations

Attend Monthly review meetings with line Management

Attend regular Client review meetings to ensure communication with the Clients to ensure delivery of performance KPI’S as defined in the M.O.D. contracts

To ensure remedial quotations provided within KPI timescales through quote teams

To arrange system site surveys through Marlowe surveying and Project Sales personnel

To arrange sub-contractor site surveys including in house Marlowe Group Companies

Responsibility for projects to be delivered as technically compliant and within budget and on time

Provide monthly work bank forecast working to achieve monthly budget

In conjunction with Operations Manager, Selection and monitoring of sub-contract labour, direct resource and suppliers

To attend site meetings and regional offices when required

To instigate and develop a strategy to increase Marlowe Fire and Security footprint within the MOD and Government sector in conjunction with Sales Director and Bid Manager

Person Specification

Experience in a similar Senior management role within Government and MOD sector would be advantageous

Experience of managing P&L for similar contracts would be beneficial

Excellent I.T skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Customer focused with the ability to resolve customer queries

Be capable of working effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment

Professional with excellent communication, admin and people skills

Strong organisational stills

The ability to handle multiple priorities with a structured approach

Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic

Willingness to travel nationally and attend client meetings

Experience of working within Ministry of Defence and Government contracts

Security Cleared to SC Level or willingness to obtain clearance

Can do attitude

Manage teams to ensure productivity and efficiency

Basic knowledge of Fire and Security systems ( NB In depth Technical knowledge not required )

Process and procedures driven individual

Passionate enthusiastic and able to motivate others
