Job Title: Lead Engineer
Position Reports to: Regional Service Manager
Based: Home Based
Job Purpose Summary
A self motivated person who gives day to day support and Guidance to the engineering team in their area, they will plan and monitor the maintenance tasks and work in conjunction with the customer services colleague for the area to ensure effective and profitable use of the engineering resource for the area.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
To ensure performance and service is in line with compliance and monthly schedules.
Respond to customer needs, complaints and concerns with a sense of urgency as and when required.
Complete tool box talks, health and safety audits (PPE, Ladder, vehicle etc), reporting accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
To perform quality and product audits in line with HSQE
To ensure Environmental Compliance – safe disposal of waste (ionised detectors / WEEE etc.), returns of waste transfer and consignment notes and to ensure all operatives carry the waste transfer certificate.
Be available for site surveys and installation handovers
To provide first line tech support for the field team and customer services.
Organise and maintain and communicate an effective call out rota for the area.
Responsible for minor works delivery within area.
Stand in for RSM as and when required.
To provide engineers with site based product training where required.
To assist in management of engineering team.
Support engineers in stock control and further action management.
To attend and assist with troublesome sites and complaints.
Technically support sales with quotations.
Initial planning of ppm on large/ complex sites.
Personality – Energy, calm under pressure, enthusiastic.
Effective man management skills.
Experience of working in a challenging/ fast paced environment.
Technically proficient in most types of the security and fire products.
Professional, Assertive and positive flexible approach.
Willing to learn.
